Cinemafantastique, which is Shivers Film Society’s new annual and flagship genre film festival, featuring world cinema of the cult and the fantastique, and showcasing exciting Canadian genre films (also of the fantastique variety), will be launching on Thursday, July 9th and running all weekend until Sunday, July 12th! Opening with Dario Argento’s amazing “Three Mothers” trilogy (Suspiria, Inferno, Mother of Tears) all presented in HD and uncut for the first time in Vancouver, and closing with the Italian zombie horror comedy classic Dellamorte Dellamore (Cemetery Man), Cinemafantastique will also be hosting several Canadian and Vancouver premieres, including Kelly Micheal Stewart’s Late Night Double Feature, Brivido Giallo’s Glass, plus Discopath, Blood Riders: the Devil Rides with Us, and The Strange Colour of Your Body’s Tears, as well as special late-nite screenings of Barbarella and Wild Zero, thanks to our friends at Synapse Films and the Vancouver Queer Film Festival.
Come and cool off with Shivers at the Norm Theatre this summer! Special GALA presentation at the Pit Pub with the Earthlickers and Glass cast & crew on Friday, July 10th at 4pm! (screenings of both films to follow at 6pm that evening)!
